They scheduled a repair person to come out to fix our solar battery problem.

We had a new home built in 2021. We are 100% off-grid, so we rely solely on our solar for all our electrical needs. We had always been on the grid in the past. We feel we were not given any instruction/education on our solar system from the original contractor –perhaps the intent was to keep us in the dark so we would stay dependent on him. So, we learned as we went. After struggling with the original solar contractor for two and a half years, my builder called Prometheus who contacted us. We are in the Chino Valley area, so it is over 1 ½ hours to our home from Flagstaff.

Ryan Holtz, the owner, came to survey our system. He solved a surging problem we were having which the original contractor wouldn’t or couldn’t fix. Ryan patiently educated us and answered questions to which we couldn’t get answers from the original contractor. He didn’t hesitate and assured us he would take care of us and the system. Ryan installed surge protectors on both sides of the inverter, to add to its protection and to safeguard our home electrical. Watching Ryan work, we noticed him slightly shaking his head, as an expert will do when looking at substandard work. As Ryan made recommendations, it became painfully obvious the original contractor had taken many shortcuts when installing our system. Ryan, with my permission, was given remote access to our inverter so Prometheus could monitor our system from Flagstaff.

A couple of weeks later, Ryan sent Louis and Christian to our home. Lightning arrestors were installed on the solar field to help protect the charge controller circuits in the inverter. A larger box was put on the solar field for the wiring which should have been done originally. The original electrical box (standard duplex) barely contained the wiring. Larger sized wiring nuts were used instead of ones barely big enough. Inside, an electrical distribution box was added, so all the cabling to the three batteries were the same length, which the manufacturer of the batteries insisted upon for their warranty. A heavier cable was run from that box to the inverter. And the wires were red and black for positive and negative, not all black! An LED indicator light was replaced in one of the batteries that hadn’t worked in over a year which the original contractor claimed they couldn’t obtain. Overall, Louis and Christian got rid of two “rats nests” of wires. Now our wiring looks expertly installed, instead of a haphazard mess. Louis even cleaned the dust off the tops of the batteries, indicating, to me that he took pride in his work!

Shortly after Louis and Christian left our home, I noticed a warning light on our generator indicating the battery on the generator wasn’t being charged. After quickly trying to diagnose it myself as it was getting close to 5pm, I called Prometheus. Ryan sent them back and solved the problem, staying on the phone with them. Outstanding!

We are very happy with Ryan and his team. We now have peace of mind and a new confidence in our solar system.

We had a long list of solar providers to choose from when setting up our new home for off-grid living. We chose Prometheus because of their attention to detail and willingness to design a custom system for us.

I am very pleased with my experience with Prometheus Solar. I just had an upgrade installed to my existing system and so far am very happy with its performance. When I signed the contract I was told up front that they were very busy and working to get caught up. I understood that I would need to be patient, but since I spoke to them ahead of when I would really be needing the upgraded system during the monsoon season, that wasn’t a problem, and as that season approached I spoke to Kelly to see how their schedule was looking. She had me on the schedule for the very next Tuesday and Wednesday. Sure enough, Tuesday morning Ryan, Daniel, and Josh showed up early and got right to work, so much so that by Tuesday evening they had completed the job, having done a very neat and clean installation. Daniel took all the time needed to familiarize me with the operation of my new equipment and he and Kelly both assured me that if I had any questions or difficulties with it that they would be eager to help me. I’m very thankful that I chose Prometheus Solar to do this upgrade!

I called and spoke with Kelly at least six times, asking for help. She said they were busy and couldn’t send a tech out to assess my onsite needs until the following month. She said she’d reach out to me. I never heard back. I called again, same story, same result – nobody called and I wasn’t helped.

A friend had told me to call Prometheus and ask for Kelly. So, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I called again, Kelly answered and apologized for dropping the ball (her words). With a promise to reach out to me once a tech was free, I was sure she’d call. Wrong again!

I finally went to Northern Arizona Wind & Sun. First call, I was helped. By that weekend, my project was finalized and I’m a happy camper.

Goodbye, Prometheus Solar. I’ll never bother you again.

We are very happy with Prometheus Solar. The salesman, Mike Gunning, was very informative and helpful. The timeline was met for installation. The people installing did a very good job setting up our panels and cleaning up afterwards. We would highly recommend them.

The guys at Prometheus were great. On time , on budget.

Absolutely the best consumer experience I have had with a company in any industry. They really know all there is to know about solar and solar installations, how to interact with the utility, and they were a pleasure to work with on installation. They even noticed before I did that an inverter on one panel had gone bad and called me to schedule a replacement under warranty. They have been helpful on solar related questions years after installation. I got multiple bids for the first installation, but for the expansion of my system, I did not bother to even contact anyone else. I knew they would be the best and they were again.

Great experience working with Prometheus. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to go Solar.

Super nice people. But forgetful of materials needed to do the job. Communication wasn’t good either. I consistently had to call to find out what was going on, if they were done with the work when they left the property. I had to call multiple times to try to get answers from them
